🧾 Stanza 1
I wonder, by my troth, what thou and I
(আমি সত্যি বলছি, ভাবি—তুমি আর আমি)
Did, till we loved? were we not weaned till then?
(ভালবাসা পাওয়ার আগে আমরা কি করতাম? তখনও কি আমাদের পূর্ণতা হয়নি?)
But sucked on country pleasures, childishly?
(গ্রাম্য আনন্দে মগ্ন ছিলাম, যেন শিশুর মতো?)
Or snorted we in the Seven Sleepers’ den?
(নাকি আমরা ঘুমিয়ে ছিলাম সাত ঘুমন্তের গুহায়?)
’Twas so; but this, all pleasures fancies be.
(সত্যিই তাই; তবে এই ভালোবাসা সকল আনন্দের চেয়েও বাস্তব।)
If ever any beauty I did see,
(যদি আমি কখনও সৌন্দর্য দেখেও থাকি,)
Which I desired, and got, ’twas but a dream of thee.
(যা আমি চেয়েছি ও পেয়েছি, তবে তা তোমারই এক স্বপ্নমাত্র।)

And now good-morrow to our waking souls,
(এখন শুভ সকাল—আমাদের জাগ্রত আত্মাদের।)
Which watch not one another out of fear;
(যা পরস্পরকে ভয় করে নজর রাখে না।)
For love, all love of other sights controls,
(কারণ ভালোবাসা—সব ইন্দ্রিয়ের ভালোবাসাকে অতিক্রম করে।)
And makes one little room an everywhere.
(এবং একটিমাত্র ছোট ঘরকে বানিয়ে দেয় সমগ্র জগৎ।)
Let sea-discoverers to new worlds have gone,
(সমুদ্র অভিযাত্রীরা যাক নতুন পৃথিবী খুঁজে নিতে,)
Let maps to others, worlds on worlds have shown,
(মানচিত্র দেখাক অন্যদের নতুন নতুন পৃথিবীর কথা,)
Let us possess one world; each hath one, and is one.

My face in thine eye, thine in mine appears,
(আমার মুখ তোমার চোখে, আর তোমার মুখ আমার চোখে প্রতিফলিত হয়,)
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest;
(আর খাঁটি হৃদয় একে অপরের মুখে প্রতিফলিত হয়।)
Where can we find two better hemispheres,
(আমরা কি খুঁজে পেতে পারি এমন দুটি সুন্দর অর্ধগোলক,)
Without sharp north, without declining west?
(যেখানে না আছে কাঁপানো উত্তরের শীতলতা, না আছে অস্তমিত পশ্চিম?)
Whatever dies, was not mixed equally;
(যা কিছু মরে, তা সমভাবে মিশ্রিত হয়নি বলেই মরে,)
If our two loves be one, or thou and I
Love so alike, that none do slacken, none can die.
(যদি আমাদের দুটি ভালোবাসা এক হয়, বা তুমি ও আমি সমভাবে ভালোবাসি, তবে আমাদের ভালোবাসা কখনই ক্ষয়প্রাপ্ত হবে না।)
